Wolfgang Hoeltgen
Founder and director of German Indian Business Center (GIBC) Hannover, Germany

An electronic engineer by qualification, Wolfgang has a long career in multiple international projects. He worked as an engineer, IT-manager and controller in Germany and the USA for companies like IBM.

He took several project management tasks both regional and international in the areas of IT, M&A and business development for companies like TUI group, and Dorma doorsystems, Melitta and Europe’s biggest kitchen maker Wellmann. After installing and operating his own wind power plant in 2003 he started exploration-projects for wind power in Africa, South East Asia and from 2006 onwards ran excursions for managers of SME companies to India. Since then he has been offering seminars on "Managing the Future", "efficient teamwork", "Intrapreneuralship," "Innovation-Management" and "Effectuation Management" including activities in India about German-Indian business relationships. In 2007 he founded the German-Indian Business Center in Hannover, supported by "Hannoverimpuls"- the business development organization of Hannover and the Ministry of Traffic and Economy in Niedersachsen.

As a co-organizer of Germany’s biggest science and technology-show for young people he became responsible for universities at "ideenexpo" 2007, followed by 2009.

He intensified his India-experience when he

  • Organized the participation of Indian student-groups in the "ideenexpo 2009"
  • Organized a BMBF sponsored project to market the "science & technology-location Germany" in India 2008
  • Organized and conducted a workshop in Rajasthan on "Green Manufacturing" with the Technical University Braunschweig and the famous University BITS-Pilani
  • Supervised the works of engineering students in Chennai and BITS-Pilani
  • Innovation centre to be set up in Gujarat.
